Happy birthday Susan B. Anthony!
February 15, 1820 - March 13, 1906
In 1978, President Jimmy Carter signed the bill authorizing the Susan B. Anthony Dollar Coin.  The U.S. Mint officially released the coin on July 2, 1979.

Yes yes… Susan B. Anthony.
I don’t like her. I don’t like her at all. And, here’s why.
She fought very strongly to end slavery in America. Cool! But, as soon as Black men got the right to vote, and women still didn’t, she revealed her racist self. Anthony wrote and said tons of racist shit after Black men got the right to vote:

“The old antislavery school says that women must stand back, that they must wait until male Negroes are voters. But we say, if you will not give the whole loaf of justice to an entire people, give it to the most intelligent first. If intelligence, justice, and morality are to be placed in the government, then let the question of woman be brought up first and that of the Negro last.”  (1869 letter to Frederick Douglass)

When Blacks were being lynched, Anthony didn’t say a word. When issues concerning Blacks were brought up, she declared them “dead questions of the past.” That’s the reason why the NWSA (National Woman Suffrage Association) was started. It was a split from the American Equal Rights Association because Anthony, Elizabeth Stanton (another feminist hero who thought it was disgraceful that “Patrick [Irish immigrants] and Sambo [Blacks] and Hans [German immigrants] and Yung Tung [Chinese immigrants]” would make decisions, via the right to vote, for women like herself.), and others wanted to basically be racist.
And, Sojourner Truth was stuck in a bind. She had stood with Anthony fighting for the end of slavery. And when that was over, she was alienated by Anthony and the White women she had thought herself to be equals with. She was confused and sad. And so was Frederick Douglass.
When Anthony was race baiting and being racist while discussing what “women” need and want.. she defined what a woman was… and her definition excluded Black and immigrant women…just like when Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich talk about “Americans” today.

“dead questions of the past”… hmmm… sounds SO familiar.

What’s it like to be an anti sj male blogger who spends all day getting upset over posts that are made by other anti sj male bloggers posing as sj bloggers

Humans can be miserable without being oppressed, and it is perfectly consistent to deny that a person or group is oppressed without denying that they have feelings or that they suffer.

Marilyn Frye on privileged people misusing the word “oppression” to describe their inconveniences or interactions with oppression (benefiting from others’ oppression)

This is an academic explanation of the whole “privileged” doesn’t mean “you have a perfect life” it means you have privilege thing. It means that no one is saying you have a perfect life. For example, if you’re a man and you’re white, you might have an awful life because you’re poor or anything else even, but you’re still not experiencing systems of racial oppression or disadvantages for your gender. Meaning you benefit from at least not being a poor man of color or a poor woman of color, etc.

This is to demonstrate that privileged people are consistently misusing a term that they’re seeing actually oppressed people use and wrongly applying it to any inconvenience they have as a person with those axes of privilege.

"Feminists fuck better." Please stop. Men still hate you. "Watch me smash patriarchy while reverse cow-girlin’ you." He still thinks you’re a bitch. "I only fuck feminists." Thanks for letting me know nothing’s really changed. "Feminists can be sexy and cute!" I don’t care for mollifying feminism; you’re only trying to make it palpable for men. "Some porn stars are empowered by porn!" Individual empowerment doesn’t speak for macro-social repercussions of the very same industry; the majority of actresses in pornography go through shootings with the help of alcohol and drugs in order to numb the physical and mental abuse they suffer. Much of your individualistic understanding of empowerment and agency is very much complicit with patriarchal violence. So.

Remember when I made this post and the anons I got.

I will never understand why white people get so mad at the fact that they can’t be racially oppressed I do not understand why in the fuck you would want that. That shit isn’t fun it isn’t some cool new trend. People die. They get tortured, raped. They get stalked, attacked, denied jobs and have get struck down in every avenue of their life and white people for some reason WANT that.

Children of color are old enough to face racism when they’re born. Old enough to bear the weight of stereotypes & hate before their little eyes can focus. But somehow white kids are supposed to be too delicate & too shielded to even know race exists because somehow that might hurt them. When your definition of innocent child doesn’t include my babies? I know what you’re on & I don’t have any patience for the lies you tell yourself or your children.

The Israel Broadcasting Authority banned a radio broadcast made by the human rights organization B’Tselem about children killed in Gaza, claiming its content was “politically controversial.”

Petition to ban old men from writing books just because they don’t know how to use an iPhone

Petition to have the youth in this country to actually educate themselves instead of spitting out some bullshit they read on some shitty post on facebook that’s untrue, and continues to spread like wildfire.

In 2012, young adults have set the record of completing both high school and college and are on course to become the most educated generation in America history. Maybe you should follow the example of ‘the youth in this country’ and do the same.

He put gundam on the cover? Like every single Gundam series hasn’t provided in depth and continuously unique looks into the mindsets of civilians, soldiers, politicians, oppressors, and the oppressed on both moral spectrums of global conflicts? Like the entire existence of the Gundam series isn’t a metaphor for a look at how a lack of human empathy leads into spirals of destruction where the only justification that can be found is in pointing to that destruction as an excuse to cause more for the profit of those in the higher echelons of power to profit from? Fuck this man bruh.

Not to mention 99% of the Gundam series happen not just because of human error and rapid growth but vast government corruption and war profits.

Dude, you’re so edgy and politically incorrect. it’s totally ironic and satirical how you regurgitated those ancient and threadbare stereotypes. It reminds me of my great great great great grandpa, Cracker von Patriarch, who also challenged the status quo by embracing it with loving tenderness.

I don’t know where I came across this, but it’s witty as fuck  (via naartje)
